Main Street January

Nina went to an overnight Girl Scout event in at the Lazer Zone. Mari dropped her off at nine p.m. Friday night and picked her up at 5:30 a.m.on Saturday. After a quick breakfast, she went to sleep and didn't get up again until 2:30 p.m.!

This was the first walk I'd been on since finals week in December, when my back started hurting me.

Infirmary Report: Part Two

Wednesday night was a bear. Emilio's fever got up to 104.7 and when we tried to give him some Ibuprofen, he threw up in our bed. At that point, all three children were crying. We recruited Aunt Carolyn to sleep with Pablo on the futon and Mari and I slept with Nina and Emilio in our bed.

Aunt Carolyn drove Mari and Emilio to Dr. Mettry and watched Nina and Pablo in the lobby during his appointment. Dr. Mettry said he thought Emilio had a virus and that his ear was somewhat red, but he said we could wait to see if he got better on his own before we started the antibiotics treatment (which would not bring down the fever in any case).

When Pablo woke up from his afternoon nap, we noticed liquid discharge coming out of his second ear--that one that did not previously have a perforated ear drum--so we think both ear drums are perforated now. When we called Mettry today, Friday, he suggested that we put anti-biotic ear drops in both of Pablo's ears.
