Jiggety Jig

She's back!

Thank you Mom and Aunt Carolyn for helping me hold down the fort while my babies' mama was away! (And thanks to the rest of the family for holding down the Fort in the meantime!)

If Pablo Dressed Himself For School

Red-and-pink-striped-knee-high socks, red houseshoes, a semi-circular cloud-patterned pillow as a sash, a pig-puppet mitten on the right hand, a velco paddle strapped to the left, and mom's blue house shoes as elbow pads.

I am only responsible for the sensible, striped t-shirt and blue shorts underneath, which is what I sent him to school in today. The rest is all Pablo.

Staying Cool in the Oklahoma Hot

We learned yesterday that this past July was Oklahoma's hottest ever, and this week may be the hottest yet.  The kids spend the day in air-conditioned air (after a brief morning excursion on the playground), but they each had a cool treat after school:  ice cream from the freezer for Pablo and Emilio; a frozen juice bar for Nina.  And everyone took baths.  Pablo was the first the get in and the first to get out.
