One year older, four minutes faster
It took all of my persuasive skills to get permission to park my vanload of crosscountry fans near the finish line of the Cougar Chase, and if Mari had finished the 5K in the same time it took her to finish last year's race, when she finished first in her age group (she was sure she wouldn't be able to match that pace), Nina, Pablo, and I would have been there to cheer her up the final hill. But she finished four minutes faster than last year, so all we could do was celebrate her personal-best finish, and wait for Emilio and Aunt Carolyn.
Aunt Carolyn finished first in her age group.
