Though it's 41 degrees at kickoff for the U12 game against Tishomingo, it feels much colder because of the winds.
Though Tishomingo started without a full side, we fall behind 0-1, Neili evens the scoring at 1. But by halftime we're down 1-3.
I hear someone told the refs that if the margin of victory widens significantly in the 2nd half, they can cut it short because everyone is so cold.
In the 2nd half, we've got the winds at our back. Nina is wearing my knit cap and leather gloves, and she's ready to pounce in the box when she gets a chance to cut the goal differential in half.
Six minutes later, Neili scores her second goal and the score is tied.
A bare two minutes after that, she scores her third to give us the lead.
And eight minutes later, Nina finds a corner kick that nobody will adopt at the edge of the box, and she sends into the net.
That's her second goal of the game and our first victory of the season!
