Anniversary Waltz

Mari and I enjoying our twelfth wedding anniversary this past Saturday, but as has often been the case, we didn't know we were enjoying it because we completely forgot it was our anniversary. Emilio didn't bother to remind us either. We only realized we had forgotten it when Jack congratulated us the day after (he knew because we game him and Julie a calendar in which I had written it and other important Benton-Ruiz family dates).

Anyway, we spent our anniversary night taking a long walk around the neighborhood, an activity which we repeated yesterday and intend to repeat again tonight. It was, in retrospect, a fine way to celebrate.

I don't know why it is, but Gene and I are famous for forgetting ours. We didn't remember our 8th (in June after Jen was born in July) for six months!

I meant after Jen was born in April - duh

It is, indeed, a fine neighborhood. Except in winter.

i think forgetting anniversaries is okay...as long as you both forget. :-)

akid and i have solved the whole anniversary problem by just not having one. and we really don't have one. not like we each secretly know when it is and we just say we don't have one to other people. we really have no idea when the anniversary is and haven't wanted to mine the past to find out.

Good for you Lisa and akid... Sometimes the days assume too much importance and it's easy to get disappointed when things don't pan out according to expectations. Better to just value a good, but ordinary, day!

¡primera noticia!
