Day 11: Grand Canyon Morning

We got up early, drove to North Kaibab Trail, and spent half an hour walking steadily down 340 meters (that's 103 stories) into the Canyon until we got to Coconino Overlook. After some deliberation, we decided to hike back up and head to other trails instead of going down any further.

Next, we drove up Cape Royal Road to Vista Encantada Point.
Next stop on the Cape Royal road: Walhalla Overlook.
Cape Royal Trail is at the end of Cape Royal Road.
That's Angel Window in the photo below. And that's Mari, Nina, Emi and Pablo posing by the rail in the distance .
That's Wotan's Throne, and Thor Temple in the distance behind Pablo in the photo below.
After returning from Cape Royal, we headed back to the North Rim Lodge for lunch and one last canyon view.

After we left the Grand Canyon, we drove past Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument to Page, Arizona. In most states, the Grand Staircase Escalante would be considered a Wonder of the World, but because it's so close to so many other wonders in Utah and Arizona, it flies under the national radar.
We could see the Glen Canyon Dam from the window of our hotel.
